Determining the exact time of birth can often be challenging for several reasons, such as the absence of the birth time on the Birth Certificate or improper recording due to various circumstances at the time.
Another issue that arises is the question of time zones. Should we consider the time zone when we want to construct the chart? And then, what about the Daylight-Saving Time (DST)?
We look at this example:
If this is the case, should his chart be constructed according to the recorded TOB at 10:30am or at the converted time at 08:50am?
The safe way is to construct his chart according to both times. This means he has two charts. To determine which chart is the right chart for him, you need to ask the key events in his life. But what about if it's a chart of an infant? Then, you have to ask the key events of his parents' lives.
The next question is, what about twins? Do they share the same fate? No, they are not. I have a colleague who has a twin sister, and their fates aren't the same. One was born just a few minutes earlier and she became a manager in a short period of time compared to her twin who was still stuck as an officer despite they joined the same company around the same time. Later, this lady left her job to get married, and the manager is still single until today.
So, how do we address this case? Honestly, I haven't come across any clue in Zi Wei Dou Shu on how to decode this kind of situation.
Decoding a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart is not as simple as it seems once you begin to master it. There is a possibility that one might end up with an overlapping chart such as in my case.
I have constructed 2 charts. The first one was based on my actual birth time and the second one on the time zone. To my surprise, both charts were accurate to a certain degree and until today, I use both to determine the outcome.
Some countries adjusted their time zones a few times for several reasons. Countries such as Malaysia and Singapore are known for adjusting their time zones, and their current time zones might not be accurate. If we were to measure by longitude, both countries should fall within the GMT 07:00 - 07:30. Currently, their time zones are GMT 08:00.
